This is my last Wedding Day recap post, finally! It has been so fun to go through all our pictures and remember such an incredible day. I am so glad to have this little place on the web to document and journal, our day to day life but also big moments like this! You can check out past wedding posts...
So now...the party begins! Our reception was held at Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts in Lubbock, TX and it was a blast. SUCH a fun night celebrating with loved ones!
P.S you can read the story of having to change venues last minute here. It is very entertaining.

In the previous post, you saw us and the wedding party dance are way in to the reception. Right after, Robert said a prayer and then dinner was served! It was a great time for Robert and I to go around and mingle with everyone, thank them for coming and just to give lots of hugs. By the end of the night I felt like we were able to talk with a ton of people but I know there were still many we were not able to thank, which I just hate! We are so thankful for every single person that could come and celebrate with us. So grateful for their love and support.
After we mingled a bit, we actually sat down and ate! Tons said as the couple this would likely not happen. But at one point there was the opportunity and we grabbed it! We got to sit down with family, chat a little and enjoy some delicious food. Not for very long, but just enough!
Such wonderful people, it was so fun celebrating with such important people in our lives.
Then it was time to cut the cake!
yep, we are that couple. Rob started it and I couldn't not finish it!
Right after the cutting of the cake, we moved into toasts. Robert's best man and brother, Pat made a toast as well as my little sister and maid of honor, Mckinley!
Their speeches were awesome, so thoughtful and funny. I was so proud of Kinley. I thought she might be embarrassed and shy...but not at all! She owned that speech. And it was hilarious! And Pat just did an awesome job. Best toasts ever!
Next up, was our First Dance. So let me tell ya, I have been obsessed with Father of the Bride for as long as I can remember, as well as My Best Friend's Wedding. It's a crazy obsession. So I have loved the song "The Way You Look Tonight", it seems like forever. And Robert was totally on board with doing it as our first dance. And it turned out to be perfect. Such a beautiful song playing in the background while Robert and I savored and enjoyed our first dance together as husband and wife. A moment I will never forget.
And...The dance floor is open! People danced all night, let loose and had fun! It was a blast.
I love all the smiles in these pictures!
Robert's wonderful mom and dad dancing away.
And now time for the garter and bouquet toss...such a fun and silly moment!
my uncle and aunt, isn't this such a sweet picture??
Robert's signature move in the bottom, left corner. It is hilarious, and I mean hilarious. It gets me every time.
Love all these people so much!
At the end Betsy, got a picture of all the guests left! I thought it was the best idea. I just love this picture!
After an amazing day and night, we were off...
We cannot thank all of our friends and family enough for celebrating with us on such a joyous day. It was an incredibly wonderful, wonderful day full of so much JOY. We made a commitment to one another and to God in front of our loved ones...what a joyous day! So thankful for the gift of my groom and the gift of marriage.
Thanks for hanging in there with me through all these wedding posts, I hope they were as fun to read as they were to write! Remember to see the rest, click the links at the top of this post or click on the "Wedding" black tab on the side bar.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos for a beautiful bride! Looks like such a fun reception!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics. It truly captures the most elusive of fun moments that could just blur right by in motion -- like smiles, for example. This shows that though we have gone great lengths in the audio-visual tech, there's still nothing like a good shot at the right place and the right time.

It must be so delightful for you to look back on that joyful day. It’s rather obvious that everyone was elated to join you in your special day. And what’s not to enjoy? Everything about the reception is remarkable. You clearly put in a lot of effort to make your big day an extraordinary one. I could even feel your wedding bliss, even if this was just a walk down the memory lane. Cheers!
