September Goals (&August Recap)

August was such a fun month and a good one for me and my goals. I am enjoying doing these goals each month, keeps me accountable and it is fun! My August goals...

ONE. Read (or finish) two books. I have a couple I am wanting to read and a couple I need to finish. So my goal is to get two books fully read this month! Yes, I completed two books, two really good books. The Nesting Place and Robert and I finished The 5 Love Languages, finally! Both of these books I would highly recommend.

TWO. A common one, get back on the healthy track this month. With as much as we have been traveling, not having our own place, ect (excuses, excuses), I have kinda just been eating whatever I want and hardly working out. This month it is back to the routine! Yay! I feel really great about how I did this month. I joined a gym (the best way for me to workout) and have gone about 4 times a week. And I feel so good. I had not stopped working out this summer but was just not going regularly. So it has been so nice to get back into the routine. It is so important to remember how wonderful exercise is for you.

THREE. Along with that. I want to find and cook 5 healthier (and yummy!) meals. Ones that we like and ones that could be added into a weekly menu. I have a couple from our Whole 30 experience, but I definitely need a few more. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them! Spaghetti Squash with Ground Turkey Tomatoe Sauce {so good}, and Skinny Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken Tacos, were both delicious! We also tried a Mexican Quinoa and really did not like it. Those were really the only new meals we tried {so just 3}. But I have a couple of items that I have really grown to love this month...Turkey Bacon and Nut Thins. That is 5, right? ;)

FOUR. Go to the Drive-In. Robert will be leaving to head back overseas soon and this is something we both want to do before he leaves. I still have a little more time at home, but it is something I would love to do with him! And it's just so fun. I think it kinda equals the perfect summer night. We were able to do this before Rob left and I am so glad we did! We brought a "picnic" to eat and saw two movies we really wanted to see for a great price, all on such a beautiful night. It was such a great date night!

FIVE. Make a Photo Book this month. I have a few books (honeymoon, year 2013 and Italy trip) I am needing to put together. This month I want to complete and order one of them! I did it! Our Honeymoon Book is sitting in my cart and I am just waiting for a "sale" to buy!

Now for September goals...this is very unexciting. I only have one new one for this month, but for the most part just want to continue mine from August. So..
1. Read 2 more books
2. Continue on the healthy track. Of course, enjoy those treats and by no means workout every day, but just everything in moderation. My goal is always to be the healthiest me possible!
3. Find at least 3 healthier meals to cook this month.
4. A new one! Work on having a blogging schedule and posting more regularly.

Do you have goals for this month? Any suggestions for me?

  4. Very great goals! I can't imagine not reading. I need to do more monthly goals, mine are usually seasonal. I am not a fan of quinoa either but love Spaghetti squash!
