Italian Adventure: A Must Do

We took our Italian Adventure back in May. When Roberto and I reflect back on this trip, there are so many wonderful memories that surface {we fell hard in love with this country}. There is one night while in Tuscany that neither of us will ever forget. It was just one of those nights, the kind that sticks with you forever...beautiful weather, amazing wine, perfect food, great company, incredible scenery...

{the seven towers you see, is the town of San Gimignano. too cool}

We made reservations for a wine tour, tasting and dinner at Fattoria Poggio Alloro. It is an Agriturismo surrounded by the beautiful Tuscan hills, right outside of San Gimignano. We did  not stay here, but they do have rooms available that the guests spoke very highly of. There is also a farm {which provides fresh and delicious meals}, a wine cellar and beautiful scenery everywhere you look.

I am raving on about this place because I am convinced it is a must for your Italian Adventure!

{the husband looking all handsome and stuff.}

We arrived in the late afternoon and started out with the Wine Cellar tour followed by a tour of the farm. This was too neat in itself and then the evening just continued to get better. We next were seated at a quiet table outside surrounded by rolling hills and then enjoyed our wine tasting.

 {yall. this was goat cheese...out of this world. }

We had the best time enjoying each others company, savoring every bite and sip and marveling at the beauty around us.

After our tasting, it was time for dinner with the other guests. The food...oh my word. It is so hard to describe how delicious this food was. We both agreed it was the best meal of our life and that is no exaggeration. We sat for 3 hours as we received course after course and enjoyed lovely conversation with some incredible couples.

As we finished up dinner and conversations, we headed out to the crisp night air full of gratitude. Grateful for full tummies and full hearts. It was an experience we will treasure forever.

Dear Husband, I am so Proud of You.

So this is an area that plays a huge role in our life and I just do not talk about it enough! So today's post is all about the hubby and his upcoming basketball season.

Roberto left at the end of August to head to our new home, Lublin, Poland! He has been practicing and scrimmaging away for the past month and putting in many hours in the gym. His hard work and dedication is so inspiring to me and I could not be more proud of him.

And now it is time for their season to start. Their first game is tomorrow and he is so ready! I am so sad to miss, but I will be there at the end of October ready to cheer the husband on! But for now I will cheer from right here in Texas.

Robert Eugene, I am so proud of you and am so excited to see what this season holds. Go Lublin and Go Baby!!

Also a little video interview...I can't wait to see this man again!

Life's Little Moments: September Edition

October has arrived! That sounds so crazy. I just cannot believe it is here but I am SO excited! I am so ready to pull out the scarves and boots, drink hot chocolate, carve pumpkins and cuddle under a cozy blanket...October, so glad you are here!

September was a great month. A month of truly missing my husband but a fabulous month full of sweet, sweet times with family and friends.

 On the 9th, I celebrated my birthday! We had a little celebration with family, it was low key and so wonderful. Roberto sent me the most beautiful flowers. I sure do love that man.

I had a lot of fun this month working on my handwriting. Man, there is soo much to learn. But it is fun to work on during my spare time!

I also did another Whole 30 this month. And have truly loved it this time {check out my last Whole 30 experience here}. I have been doing it with my mom and step-dad and it has been going great. Hard days for sure, but the perks of it are just amazing. Our last day is Thursday and I am really wanting to keep this up, maybe like 80/20. Last time, when Rob and I did it, we did a pretty awful job and keeping up the lifestlye because of traveling and such. So this time I am determined! I will not lie though I sure am craving chocolate chip pancakes!

 I did a little shopping this month and got some great fall/winter clothes! I definitely needed a few more items, especially before I head to Poland at the end of this month. Banana Republic, Target and Dillards never disappoint and have some super cute items right now. I took this picture to show the husband what I got, and thought it turned out cute! The green shirt and booties are from Dillards and the rest from Banana.{And this is my little sister's bed. Isn't it adorable?? Love the bright colors!}

 I babysat three of my favorite kiddos for a few days this month. We had a great time hanging out, playing around the house and enjoying a Tech football game!

The husband has been working so hard over in Poland. Lots of practicing and lots of scrimmages, more on that tomorrow!

I have gotten to spend lots of time with this little bug and her big sister. Makes my heart so happy!

One weekend lots of my family and I enjoyed a cousin's wedding. It was so great and so beautiful. Plus, getting to spend time with extended family? The best.

Love these four babies. It gets a bit crazy but moments I will forever treasure. So grateful I am getting to spend so much time with them.

Christmas is up at Hobby Lobby. My heart skipped a beat!

This past weekend we celebrated this beautiful bride as she married her love! Such an amazing weekend with friends.

Love that my sweet mama and sister were able to come the wedding, we had so much fun!

The sweetest husband sent me a beautiful bracelet. The same bracelet I had bought three days prior. Great minds think alike?? I felt so bad! He was trying to be sweet and I messed it all up. But this note...means even more than the bracelet.

The other night, I was organizing my recipe book and getting it all ready to take over to Poland with me. I found a few recipe boxes from long ago, and found these beauties inside...

Recipes I wrote in elementary school. One summer I spent lots of time cooking and learning recipes with my wonderful grandmothers and Nanny I (like my grandmother). I have so many sweet memories of that time and time in the kitchen in general with these amazing ladies. My Nanny I passed away a few summers ago, so it makes these little cards even more incredibly special. So treasured. It is time to start cooking! {Especially my nanny I's famous Mac and cheese!}

And getting to hangout with these cuties?? Brings me so much joy.

September, you were too good! Many memories, I want to always remember.
